Race Information

Started in 2014, the Rural Route 13.1 is a running, walking, and biking event held each spring in rural Esbon, Kansas.  The event features several distance options: 13.1 mile run/walk, 6.2 mile run/walk, 26 mile bike ride, 13.1 mile run/walk, 6.2 mile run/walk.  Each course takes participants on a tour of rural Esbon, Kansas along rolling white rock roads.  Races are open to all ages and abilities.  For those looking for a competitive race, cash prizes are offered to top finishers.  For those seeking a more casual pace, walkers, baby joggers, and bike trailers are welcome.  We love seeing competitive runners and bikers as well as families enjoying a morning together.

Entry fees are $10 for any event without a t-shirt or $30 for any event with a t-shirt.  All entry fees include a hot, homemade breakfast, customized race bib, finisher medal, and the opportunity to decorate a locally-sourced limestone medallion.

All proceeds earned from the event are donated towards the Zach Kindler Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Scholarships are awarded each year to a Rock Hills High School senior.
